Something actually worked — share yours

I want a thread of things that genuinely worked, even just once or just for a while. Not advice. Not 'have you tried' recommendations. Just: something worked, here's what it was, here's what it did.

I'll start: I started playing the same playlist every time I sit down to do focused work. After about two weeks, hearing the first track now immediately puts me in focus mode. Like a Pavlov thing. I don't know how it happened but I'm not going to question it.

Medication. I spent years trying every non-medication approach. Then finally tried medication. I'm not saying it's for everyone, and the finding-the-right-one process is brutal. But for me it was the difference between a life I was surviving and a life I was actually living.

I told my boss I have ADHD and asked for written summaries after meetings. She said yes immediately. That one conversation reduced my work stress by probably 40%.

I started walking to work when I got the option. 25 minutes of brisk walking before I have to function. It's like pre-loading my dopamine for the day. My mornings used to be barely functional. Now they're actually okay.

I switched to writing everything in a paper notebook instead of apps. Every task, every thought, everything. I've tried every app. The physical act of writing something down creates memory in a way that typing doesn't, for me. Everything is in one notebook. It works.

Found this community. Seriously. Having language for my experience, knowing other people share it, and not feeling like a fundamentally broken person. That's not small.
