ADHD burnout vs regular burnout — how do you tell the difference?

I've been struggling for months and I can't tell if this is regular burnout (do more self-care), ADHD burnout (executive function has completely shut down), or depression masking as burnout.

The symptoms are so similar. Exhausted. Can't start anything. Emotionally flat but sometimes randomly anxious. Everything feels grey.

Has anyone figured out how to tell them apart? And what actually helps specifically with ADHD burnout?

Great question. For me, it depends on the task. When I need deep focus I use 40hz binaural beats — not brown noise on its own. The key is getting the volume right: quiet enough to not be intrusive, loud enough to mask distractions.
